Words and their meaning

Sunday, 16 July 2017, 08:31 Last update: about 8 years ago

All civilised human beings have sought to distinguish between different types of species by allocating a unique name to each of them. There are 60 species of oak wood, and over 300 other names to distinguish different types of mahogany, walnut, teak, rosewood and other types of wood. Over a million names have been given to flora and fauna, and over 25,000 to different types of fish. The sensible result is using one specific name for only one specific object.

Our commercial law prohibits the use of any brand name, if the name is already in use, even if it is remotely similar. Hence, I will not be allowed to trade a new drink even if I name it Coca Loca.

However, some brainless and uncivilised individuals lacking reason, moral and ethical behaviour find idiotic excuses to use the word 'marriage' for two types of abnormal human relationship other than that between a man and a woman, for which the word 'marriage' had been solely used for centuries.

What an idiotic community we have to put up with.
