Nearly €11 million in public funds spent on V18 projects

Nearly €11 million in public funds has thus far been spent on projects related to V18 since 2013, Minister Owen Bonnici said in response to a Parliamentary Question posed by PN MP Claudio Grech.

Bonnici said that the total amount of €10,748,056 was spent. Of these funds, €1,301,548 was spent on projects which resulted in improving Valletta's infrastructure, he added.

Projects benefiting from this amount include the restoration of Palazzo Castelleria, the Muza project, the restoration of Palazzo Ferreria, the Valletta Design cluster, Notte Bianca, the Pageant of the Seas, Malta Fashion Week, Malta Design Week, Strada Stretta Events, The Valletta Film Festival and others.

The minister added that Valletta embellishment projects have begun and will begin, being valued at €19,194,911. €17,293,244 of these funds, he said, will be EU funds. The projects would include MUZA, the Grand Master's Palace and Manoel Theatre.
