OPM spent €2,200 on Facebook advertisements during election campaign

The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) spent €2,210.43 on Facebook advertisements between 1 May and 3 June 2017, the time period leading up to the last general elections.

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat was replying to a Parliamentary Question by Nationalist MP Karol Aquilina, who asked about the expenditure of the OPM, including all entities and departments , on advertising on Facebook in that given timeframe.

In a reply, Muscat said that €2124.91 were spent by the Malta Information Technology Agency (MITA), €45.54 was spent by the Malta Communications Authority (MCA) and €40 was spent on the advertising by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA).
