Just when you thought it could not get hotter … well, it will.

Monday is set to be the hottest day of the year, at least so far this summer.

The temperature is set to climb to 36 degrees Celsius on Monday, up from 35 degrees on Sunday, with the Malta International Airport weather website issuing a warning.

The ‘feel like’ temperature will be 39 degrees.

So be prepared: if you need to be out, stay in the shade as much as possible, wear light clothes and drink lots of water.

The luckier ones who are not on duty today should know that the sea is a rather warm 26 degrees. That might make things a little bit better.
