An elderly woman who required immediate medical attention on-board a cruise ship was brought over to Malta by the AFM, a statement has read.

Late last night the AFM dispatched the Melita II SAR Launch, to evacuate the elderly woman.

The woman was brought to Hay Wharf base along with her husband, and transferred to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.
