Italian navy sailing ship 'Palinuro' will arrive in Malta on 1 August

The Italian navy sailing training ship Palinuro will arrive in Malta on 1 August, and the Vessel will berth at Pinto Wharf 3, where she will remain until the early morning of the 5 August.

The port visit in Valletta marks the commencement of the 53rd training campaign in favor of the Chief Petty Officers (CPO) Cadets, coming from the Italian Navy CPO School located in Taranto. The Cadets embarked on 25 July in occasion of the ship's port visit in Brindisi. Next ports of call for the training campaign 2017 are in Greece, Turkey and then Cyprus prior to reverting back to Italy.

The training campaign represents an essential activity in the cadets' education, complementing the academics delivered by the School. The main task is for the cadets to be exposed, for the first time, to a full experience of the maritime world in order to master their profession in the Navy and to be acquainted to the marine environment.

The general public will be able to visit the Ship on the following days:

01 Aug: 1600 – 1900;

02 Aug: 1000 – 1200, 1600 – 1800;

03 Aug: 1000 – 1200, 1600 – 1900;

04 Aug: 1600 – 1900.
