Veteran sports journalist Alex Vella has passed away at age 75.

Parliamentary Secretary for Youth and Sport Clifton Grima passed on his condolences.

Vella spent many years reporting on different sports disciplines, including local football and waterpolo, mostly for the Times of Malta. Vella also worked for the Communications Office at the Malta Football Association.
