A crash late last night in Attard, at 10.30 pm, left two badly injured, the police said in a statement.

The incident, on Triq iż-Żaghfran, saw a crash between a Peugeot 106 driven by a 20-year-old Naxxar resident, and a Honda motorbike ridden by a 22-year-old man from Pieta. A 26-year-old woman from Birzebbugia was riding pillion on the bike.

The bike riders were taken to hospital. The 22-year-old man suffered serious injuries and the woman suffered grievous ones.

An investigation is ongoing and a magisterial inquiry has been called.
