During a visit to the General Soft Drinks Ltd premises in Marsa, President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca was greeted by Chief Operations Officer Maria Micallef and the Senior Management Team and was also given a guided tour of the plant.

The President was walked through the process of production, bottling, and packaging, and had the opportunity to meet and speak with several company employees. 

The President praised General Soft Drinks for its contribution to the Maltese economy and for always providing job growth opportunities for the Maltese society.

President Coleiro Preca also commended the company's Corporate Social Responsibility and thanked the management for its constant support of the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation.

"I would like to congratulate General Soft Drinks Ltd, its management, and employees not just for being a pillar of the Maltese economy, but also for setting an example to other companies through various CSR initiatives and through initiatives which are aimed at promoting sustainable development and raising awareness about the environment, thus contributing directly to Agenda 2030 of the United Nations and its Sustainable Development Goals such as the Grey-Water System at the Helen Keller Resource Centre; the restoration of the Water Reservoir at San Anton Palace which has been out of use for 30 years, initiatives aimed at promoting recycling, and other social projects," the President concluded
