GO thanks employees for successful EU Presidency

Wednesday, 9 August 2017, 12:21 Last update: about 8 years ago

GO's ongoing investment in infrastructure and the technical expertise of its employees significantly contributed to Malta's successful recent tenure of the EU Presidency.

As the official communications provider for the Presidency, GO delivered communication services to hundreds of delegates and journalists attending meetings and events in Malta including fibre internet, Wi-Fi and 4G, as well as television and telephony services. GO also provided a state-of-the-art video-conferencing solution at the Grand Master's Palace in Valletta and at Dar Malta in Brussels.

Christian Sammut, chief officer GO Business, said: "The EU Presidency, following on from other large events in recent years such as CHOGM and the Valletta Summit, required the very best communications services to meet the needs of hundreds of delegates and journalists. Thanks to our state-of-the-art infrastructure as well as the technical and customer service expertise of our staff, these national events have all been entrusted to GO. Our team did an excellent job, enabling GO to provide a tangible contribution towards making the EU Presidency a great success."

GO's ongoing investment in infrastructure and technical expertise are also delivering benefits to the whole of Malta. This was recently confirmed by independent research conducted by the German consultancy firm, Net Check. This research showed that GO has the fastest mobile network in Malta with average speeds which are double those available in Germany.
