Brian Galea wins MSG Trap GP

Brian Galea claimed the MSG Trap Grand Prix at the Qormi Clay Shooting Club.

The weekend event was organised on five qualification rounds of 25 clay targets each, two rounds on Saturday and three rounds on Sunday.

The six highest ranked athletes overall advanced to the finals, that consist of another five knock out stages from a single shot starting from zero, while the best two Shooters from Classes A, B and C, who did not make it through to the final stages competed in Barrage B, which is a round of 25 targets from a single shot also starting from zero.

The final overall results were;

1st Brian Galea 24/25 + 4/5 + 5/5 + 4/5 + 10/10, total score 47/50

2nd Francis Scorfna 20/25 + 5/5 + 5/5 + 4/5 + 10/10, total score 44/50

3rd Nicky Carabott 16/25 + 4/5 + 4/5 + 4/5, total score 28/40

4th George Mifsud 16/25 + 3/5 + 2/5, total score 21/35

5th John Marmara 13/25 + 3/5, total score 16/30

6th Stephen Vella 10/25, total score 10/25

The top two shooters in their respective classes concluded Barrage B with the following scores;

1st Jason Magri 16/25 + 2 Shoot-Off

2nd Stephen Aquilina 16/25 + 1 Shoot-Off

3rd Chris Vella 15/25 + 1 Shoot-Off

4th Justin Borg 15/25 + 0 Shoot-Off

5th Joe Xuereb 13/25

6th Carmel Grech 12/25

 

The MSSF Shotgun Trap Programme will continue on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 August at the Southern Shooting Club with the Santa Marija Grand Prix.

 

Jason Sciberras wins 7-Up Cup

 

Jason Sciberras was the overall winner of The 7UP Cup Skeet Selection organised by the Malta Shooting Sport Federation at Bidnija. This event was over 125 clays skeet with the top six to qualify for the final stages.

Jason Sciberras placed 1st with 112/125 - 16-26-36-44-53. Second was Bozidar Dimitrov with 119/125 - 17-26-35-42-51 and Marlon Attard placed 3rd with 110/125 - 17-26-34-42.

Joe Muscat finished 4th with 119/125 - 13-19-26, Noel Scicluna 5th with 112/125 - 13-19 and Edwin Zammit 6th with 109-13

Class A 1st Joe Muscat 49/50; 2nd Bozidar Dimitrov 48/50

Class B 1st Marlon Attard 45/50; 2nd Marcello Attard 44/50
