A 72-year-old man died this morning after he was hit by a car on Aldo Moro Road in Marsa, police said. 

The Marsa resident was hit by a Citroen Cactus being driven by a 37-year-old Żabbar man at 7am. 

An ambulance took the man to Mater Dei Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. 

An inquiry into the case is underway.
