Suspended sentence for Serbian national who stole items from car

A 34-year-old from Serbia this morning pleaded guilty to charges of theft from a car and was given a suspended sentence.

The accused, Bojan Bozic, appeared before Magistrate Audrey Demicoli. The theft occurred on 11 August, but the man was only apprehended on Sunday. The police found the accused with the help of CCTV footage.

The robbery occurred in Saint Paul’s Bay and the accused stole two bags which belonged to two Water Services Corporation workers. The bags contained personal items.

Legal aid lawyer, Chris Chircop said that the accused cooperated with the police.

The man was found guilty and sentenced to 18 months imprisonment suspended for a period of two years.

Inspector Nicholas Vella led the prosecution while lawyer Chris Chircop appeared for the accused.
