The Qormi Wine Festival is back with a bigger line-up

The 13th edition of the Qormi Wine Festival is set to be the biggest ever, presenting a huge number of attractions, massive concerts spread on two days, a wide range of Maltese wines, various food stalls, competitions and much more.

This open air festival will be organiSed on Friday, 25 and Saturday, 26 August in Main Street Qormi, next to St George's Parish Church, from 7.30pm till late.

This year the Qormi Wine Festival will feature Karen and Harvey for the first part of the night followed by Vinny Vella's band featuring Andreana who will be the main attraction on the mainstage on Friday night. While at the chill-out area, the band led by local duo Xarulu', will present two hours of non-stop music.

On Saturday Xarulu' once again will warm up the crowd for another concert, this time by Mark Spiteri Lucas and Band, featuring Kaya, Ivan Spiteri Lucas, Mike Spiteri, Neville Refalo and Chiara. The chill-out area will be hosted by the trio Karma Train. The Santa Marija accordian band will take part for the first time during both nights of the event in Rock Street.

The Qormi Wine Festival is not just music; it is a massive event for food and wine lovers. This year the organisers will the presenting different food stalls, ranging from chicken with baked potatoes, the Maltese traditional ftira, wraps, penne and fried ravjul and freshly baked pizza. Another addition will be pulled pork.

The Qormi Wine Festival is again teaming up with Marsovin to present the most exclusive wines produced locally. The wine list will include Ċittadella, La Vallette, Verdala Rose', La Torre, 1919 and the whole Caravaggio range. There will also be other wines like Sottovoce Rose', Ulysses and Odyssey. During the event participants pay €15 and get 15 tokens and a souvenir wine glass. More additional tokens will be available for €1 each. In this way the souvenir glass can be used on both days of the festival. One can also redeem the token for full bottles from the wine stalls.

On Friday, the famous wine competition will be held along Main Street. This competition is open to all those who produce home-made wines. For more information phone on 7906 2455.

Another attraction is the World War II shelter which will be open to the public. At the shelter, the group 4Teenth Productions will present Tour du Ciel - a satirical production revolving around popular culture in Maltese villages and the local saints.

The Qormi Wine Festival is organised by Kumitat Festi Esterni, with the help of the Qormi Local Council.

The location can be easily reached by public transport or private cars. Parking will be available at Valley Road.
