A new unit has been established at Karen Grech Hospital for patients recuperating from a stroke, through collaboration between Mater Dei Hospital and Vitals Global Healthcare.

The unit specialises in therapy and has a gym to help patients with their rehabilitation.

Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne said that over the past few years care services for patients who endured a stroke increased. Such services included a €2 million investment in an angiosuite, as well as in the stroke retrieval treatment procedure to remove blood clots in the least invasive way possible.

The new unit inaugurated in the past days at Karen Grech Hospital is a continuation of services for persons suffering from strokes, the Minister said.
