A 45-year-old man from Qala, Gozo, has been handed a suspended sentence after pleading guilty to voluntarily damaging a car.

The case took place on Sunday in Ghajnsielem and the damage to the vehicle was in excess of €2,500.

Magistrate Joanne Vella Cuschieri handed down an 18-month jail sentence, which was suspended for two years. The man was also ordered to pay for the damage within six months.

Inspector Bernard Charles Spiteri prosecuted.
