Road works cause excessive flooding outside Attard business centre, workers complain

At a business centre in Attard, workers have been left fuming after nearby road works relating to plumbing have caused this morning’s rain to flood the street, creating serious obstacles with running their day-to-day operations.

One business owner explained clients are struggling to get in and out of the building while works are underway.

Despite such problems arising across Malta due to widespread development, shops in this particular business centre are even more incensed after spending close to three days with massive electricity disruptions without any assistance from authorities, or warning that works were going to take place. One business owner took to Facebook to describe the ordeal of having to reschedule two days worth of clients at a hair salon without being given any prior warning such disruptions would take place.

The DPeak Business centre is found on Triq il-Kapella tal-Mirakli in Attard.

Northern areas of Malta were hit by rain yesterday and today such as in Ta Qali, Rabat, Mdina and Dingli.

Yesterday evening, people rejoiced at some drizzle after a very hot spell. Several heat waves over the summer have caused many to wish for winter to come a little earlier this year, and create some much needed respite from the sweltering heat.
