After last year's success for the Mediterraneo Softball Team when they won the European Women's Softball Championship which is registered with the Malta Baseball and Softball Association, the team this year will again be taking part in the Women's European Cup Winners Cup 2017 in Caserta, Italy.

Mediterraneo won 11-1 against Hoboken Pioneers on Monday. The offence was impeccable taking the lead with 3 runs in the first and scoring another 3 runs in the second inning.

Their defence was just as great and after having a lead of 10 runs, closing pitcher Shannon Galea was put in the game to seal it by mercy rule after just 4 innings.

They will play Sant Boi (Spain), BCF Paris (France) today and Olympia Haarlem (Netherlands) tomorrow.

They are trying to make it to the semi finals and final to obtain another sucessful result for the Malta Baseball and Softball Association.
