A goal scored by Maltese international Andre Schembri gave his team Apollon Limassol a 1-1 draw which enabled the Cypriot side to qualify for the main draw of the Europa League.

Limassol had won the first leg played in Cyprus last week against Midtyjlland of Denmark 3-2, but the Danish side went ahead in the second leg yesterday to put pressure on Limassol.

Schembri’s goal in the 50^th minute restored calm to his team. Limassol even had the chance to win the game with a penalty, which Alex Silva however missed.
