Four young Italian men plead guilty to aggravated theft from sports outlet

Four young men from Gela, Italy this morning were arraigned before Magistrate Natasha Galea Sciberras, charged with aggravated theft.

19-year-old Antonio Montuori, 18-year-old Simone Barbaro, Leonardo Tedesco and another 17-year-old Italian national appeared before Magistrate Natasha Galea Sciberras charged with aggravated theft which occurred on 12 September at around 7pm.

The prosecution, led by inspector Elton Taliana, told the court that the four young men stole multiple objects from a sports outlet in Birkirkara. The four live together in room in a hotel in Bugibba.

The Italians pleaded guilty to the charges and the court noted how they collaborated with the police and returned the objects stolen. In finding them guilty of the charges brought against them, three of the accused were handed an 18 month prison sentence suspended to 30 months. The 17-year-old was given a conditional discharge for a period of three years.

Legal aid Patrick Valentino appeared for the four young men.
