Beachgoers at Ghadira bay were in for a pleasant surprise when a flamingo landed on the beach earlier today.

Marine biologist and environmentalist Alan Deidun posted a photo of the flamingo on Facebook. It appears Birlife Malta volunteers went on site.

A nature reserve in Ghadira is very close by and there were occasions in the past when flamingos landed to rest.
