A 36-year-old man was grievously injured following a traffic accident in Mellieha in the area known as Tal-Ahrax. In a statement the police said that yesterday, at around 8:15pm, they were informed that a motorcycle, a Piaggio Runner, collided with a Kia Sportage.
The motorbike was being driven by an Italian national while the car was being driven by a 65-year-old man from Mellieha.
An ambulance arrived on site to take the motorcyclist rushing to Mater Dei Hospital. He was later certified of suffering from grievous injuries.
Magistrate Doreen Clarke was informed of the case and launched an inquiry.
