Minister Ian Borg attends the Informal Meeting of Transport and Energy Ministers in Estonia

Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects Ian Borg is currently in Tallinn, Estonia, attending events related to the Informal Meeting of Transport and Energy Ministers organised during the 2017 Estonian Presidency of the Council of the EU, with sessions held yesterday and today.

Minister Borg's participation in the Informal Meeting with other EU ministers for transport, as well as ministers for energy, included discussions on several important topics, such as expectations for infrastructure development by 2020, enhancing air connectivity in Europe with a view towards better cohesion, the achievements of the TEN-T policy, and the way forward.

During his visit, Minister Borg also held bilateral meetings with European Commissioner for Transport Violetta Bulc and European Coordinator for the Scandinavian-Mediterranean Core Network Corridor Pat Cox. During his meeting with Bulc, Minister Borg discussed matters of importance to our country, including aviation issues, maritime, GHG emissions from ships, Malta's TEN-T road network and CEF, and the mobility package.
