This year's special guests will be the much awaited Saudi Hawks, representing the Royal Saudi Air Force and The Turkish Stars from the Turkish Air Force.

Painted in an eye catching green and white livery inspired by the Saudi national flag, the Saudi Hawks team was established in 1998 and is based at King Faisal Air Base in Tabuk city.

The team flies with specially modified BAE Hawk Mk65 aircraft fitted with smoke generators.

During the show, the team will show off its most iconic manoeuvre known as The Logo, for which they hold the Guinness World Record for the largest sky drawing.

During this complex manoeuvre, all aircraft will paint the nations national emblem in the sky, a palm tree with crossed swords representing prosperity and justice.

The renowned Turkish aerobatic team, The Turkish Stars will also be showing off their magnificence in the Maltese skies for the first time ever in the history of the Malta International Airshow.

The team performs its displays with 8 supersonic fighter jets, the Canadair NF-5s, which had been obtained from the Royal Netherlands Air Force. This makes the Turkish Stars one of the very few National aerobatics teams to perform with supersonic aircraft, and the only one with formations of eight supersonic jets.

Coincidentally this year the team is also celebrating its 25th year making their display much more something to look forward to.

The Swiss Air Force will also show off their trademark precision skills through their PC-7 display team.

The general public and aviation enthusiasts are invited to visit the Malta International Airshow on Saturday and Sunday at the national airport, entering from ĦalFarruġ, opposite Montekristo Estate. Those attending will have the opportunity to meet pilots, engineers and crew members of the different air forces, while also boarding some of the aircraft on site.

Doors will be open as from 9.30am till 3pm.

The flying display will be held at Smart City between 4pm and 7pm.

The general public is kindly requested not to make use of any drones at the Airshow Grounds or at Smart City.
