Short evening lectures start again

Friday, 29 September 2017, 09:33 Last update: about 8 years ago

For the past few years, we at the Planning Authority have strived to empower and make the public and stakeholders gain more knowledge on a range of planning issues. What is our next step in this regard? Amid other initiatives, we are once again hosting a range of short evening lectures. These are aimed at gaining a better understanding and knowledge about different subjects directly related to planning.

Ten Lectures: what will they cover? Following the lectures held in the past, we decided to keep the most popular ones. These include History of Architecture in Malta, Online Planning Services, Best Practices in Restoring your old home, and Commercial Development - Planning and Practice, amongst others. We are also introducing new topics which we believe will help to keep you, as a customer or professional, adjourned with the trends and changes happening in the area of planning. The latest topics vary from The How, What and When of a Planning Application, Interior Design, Green Transport Plans, Planning for Sustainable Development, as well as Rehabilitation and Conservation of the Cittadella in Gozo.

Key Speakers: who will they be? As in previous years, the presentations will be given by key speakers from the Authority, as well as prominent names in the planning and interior design industry. These include Malta Architecture Awards winners Periti Martin Xuereb, Alexia Gingell Little John and Sarah Zammit Calleja. All lectures shall be conducted in English and a participation certificate will be sent to participants.

When and where will they take place? Lectures will be held between 18:00 and 20:00hrs on Tuesdays, starting from October, at the Planning Authority offices in Floriana. A limited number of first come-first-serve spaces are available against a fee of €10 per lecture. All proceeds will be donated to Hospice Malta.

It seems like you are interested. How do you apply? Check out our user-friendly prospectus on our website www.pa.org.mt for further details about each and every topic, including their respective dates. Send us an email on [email protected]  if you would like to book to attend one or more of the lectures.
