Monday, 2 October 2017, 19:28 Last update: about 8 years ago

Exiles Jetfreight goalkeeper Matthew Castillo will be leaving Malta next week for Serbia where he will be joining Belgrade's Partizan.

During his stint there during the winter season, he will be playing for the club's team Banjica.

For 21-year old Castillo, this is not the first time that he will be playing abroad. In 2015, he had travelled to Sicily where he trained with Italian Serie A1 side Ortigia Siracusa.

Castillo had started his career with Sliema ASC, but then joined rivals Neptunes in 2013. In his first year with the Balluta Bay club, Castillo made his top league debut in the Winter League in a match against San Giljan.

The young goalie has also played for the Malta Under 17 side apart from having also been called to train with the national senior squad by coach Karl Izzo.
