PN to have new administration in place by 23 November

Tuesday, 3 October 2017, 21:55 Last update: about 8 years ago

All new PN officials will be elected by 23 November, a PN statement read, having announced the election dates for the party's other top posts.

"By the end of that month the PN will have a new administration that can begin working towards the next general election," a PN statement read. The PN executive committee this evening approved the dates for the elections of top posts, after the leadership election saw Adrian Delia appointed as leader just weeks ago.

On Saturday 4 November, a general council will be called, and the PN deputy leadership elections as well as the election for the president of the general council and the 18 representatives on the PN's Executive Committee will occur. Early voting will occur on 28 October.

On 18 November, a general convention will be called where the second phase of the elections for the deputy leaders will occur - where PN paid members (not just councillors) can vote. Early voting will be on 11 November.

Nominations for the two deputy leadership elections will be accepted between 9 and 13 October, while nominations for the president of the general council and the 18 executive committee positions will be accepted between 18 and 24 October.

The executive committee meeting, in which other posts will be appointed - including the secretary general position - will occur on 23 November. Nominations for those posts will be accepted between 13 and 17 November.

The Electoral Commission for these elections was appointed tonight. Notary Robert Muscat is the chairman. Angelito Sciberras, Erica Gauci, Richard Muscat, John Debono, David Camilleri, Alessia Psaila Zammit, Euchar Mizzi and Graziella Attard Previ are members.
