Shooting: George Mifsud wins Pink October Trap event

George Mifsud won the Pink October Trap Event where members of the Malta Shooting Sport Federation got together at the Qormi Clay Shooting Club for this fundraising occasion towards Breast Cancer Awareness.

This event was organised on two qualification rounds of 25 targets each and another 50 clay targets from one shot in the final elimination stages.

Joining Mifsud on the podium were veteran Peter Muscat who finished in second place and John Marmara who finished in third place overall.

The six finalists and their qualification scores were: George Mifsud 45/50, John Marmara 43/50, Peter Muscat, Chris Vella and Frank Scorfna followed with the identical score of 42/50 while Jean Pierre Mifsud was the sixth shooter to make the Finals with the score of 41/50.

The finals overall results were;

1st George Mifsud 20/25 + 4/5 + 4/5 + 5/5 + 8/10, total score 41/50

2nd Peter Muscat 20/25 + 2/5 + 4/5 + 5/5 + 7/10, total score 38/50

3rd John Marmara 18/25 + 4/5 + 4/5 + 4/5, total score 30/40

4th Frank Scorfna 20/25 + 3/5 + 3/5, total score 26/35

5th Jean Pierre Mifsud 15/25 + 2/5, total score 17/30

6th Chris Vella 12/25, total score 12/25

The top shooters in their respective classes concluded their three qualification rounds with the following scores:

Class A

1st George Mifsud 45/50

2nd Frank Scorfna 42/50

3rd Matthew Busuttil 32/50

Class B

1st Chris Vella 42/50 (Count Back Rule)

2nd Peter Muscat 42/50

3rd Jean Pierre Mifsud 41/50

Class C

1st John Marmara 42/50

2nd Romeo Cassar 27/50

The MSSF Trap programme will continue on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 October at the Bidnija Shooting Ranges with the Gaba Diamonds Cup.
