The car Daphne Caruana Galizia was driving when it was blown up, killing the journalist instantly, was on Wednesday removed from the scene of the crime, more than 48 hours after the incident.
It was taken to the police compound it Pembroke, where it arrived at around 6.50pm under heavy police escort.
At least four police cars and two other unmarked vehicles accompanied the vehicle to the compound.
FBI and Dutch forensic experts are helping the police in their investigations into the assassination of the journalist last Monday.
