Two men were injured this morning in a traffic accident in Mgarr, the police said.

The accident happened at 7.10am in Sir Temi Zammit Street.

A Toyota Tercel driven by a 30-year-old of Gharb and a Mitsubishi L200 driven by a 57-year-old of Xewkija.

A 25-year-old passenger in the Mitsubishi was unhurt, but the two drivers were taken to hospital for treatment. The 30-year-old was found to be seriously injured, while the other driver suffered slight injuries.

A dog that was hit by one of the cars in the impact died on the scene.
