Bernard Sammut wins WotoMoto and Enduro Racebike organised by ASMK

During next Weekend the Assocjazzjoni Sport Muturi u Karozzi will launch the ASMK Pasta Poiatti 2017-2018 Championship season with two activities. On Saturday 28th October 2017 being the first event for the 2017/2018 Trials National Championship which will be taking place at San Pawl tat-Targa, starting at 2.30pm. On Sunday 29th October 2017 ASMK will be launching the Motocross National Championship at Ta' Qali sport complex where various classes of motocross riders including veterans will be taking place. The program is scheduled to start at 9: 00am.

Last Sunday 22nd October 2017 a special Enduro event was held at Ta Qali Sport Complex in collaboration with Wotomoto Ltd. This event will launch the Enduro Championship this year and years to come too. This special event was supported by the firms Go&Fun Energy Drink and Beta Motorcycles in Malta.

The purpose of this activity is to continue to grow the sport of Enduro Motorcycles and introduced new technology bikes in the sport of Enduro riding. The competition consisted a special Enduro biking track which was constructed by the ASMK Officials at Ta Qali Sport Complex. The day's competitors raced on this track and the winner of this competition, covering the track in the fastest time wins a brand new Beta motorcycle supplied by WotoMoto Company. The lucky winner will be racing all the Enduro competitions in the coming year on the brand new Beta racer sponsored by the firm WotoMoto.

Meanwhile for this competition 20 riders registered for this race. Each Rider was given three chances to drive along the Enduro track and obviously they had the chance to improve their Lap Time during these Heats. Meanwhile, the first Heat of the day was won by Gary Debono as the fastest rider on his Sherco motorcycle. Dary was followed by James Zahra on a Sherco motorcycle and Carmelo Borg on a KTM motorcycle.

During the 2nd Heat the situation changed as Zahra improved on his first time and now finished leader to Debono and Borg respectively. In the 3rd and Final Heat where each rider was expected to run quicker the score board showed that young Bernard Sammut on his Husqvarna motorcycle made it to the top by registering the Overall Best Time of the Day. The new Electronic Lap Timing system registered the best run of Sammut with 2 minutes 33.500 seconds. Zahra finished in 2nd Overall with a best time of 2 minutes 36.569 seconds whilst third place finisher Joseph Scicluna on KTM registered his best lap in 2 minutes 41.502 seconds.

Following the official results the WotoMoto Ltd. Manager Mr Neil Falzon presented the new Beta RR motorcycle '2T 250RC' to Mr. Bernard Sammut. Sammut will be competing on this Beta during the New National Enduro Championship 2017/2018 which is expected to commence on 12th November 2017 with the first race held at Qrendi.
