Shooting: Nicky Carabott wins the BSC Trap trophy

Nicky Carabott won his third Trap competition of the season, when at the Southern Shooting Club he won the BSC Trophy.

This event was organised on two qualification rounds of 25 clay targets each plus the final stages.

George Mifsud and Frank Scorfna completed the podium with Mifsud finishing in second place overall while Scorfna took third place.

The six finalists and their qualification scores were; George Mifsud 44/50+3 shoot off, Warren Sammut 44/50+2 shoot off, Frank Scorfna 42/50, John Marmara 41/50, Nicky Carabott 40/50 and Stephen Aquilina 39/50.

The finals results were:

1st Nicky Carabott 18/25 + 3/5 + 4/5 + 5/5 + 8/10, total score 38/50

2nd George Mifsud 19/25 + 2/5 + 3/5 + 5/5 + 5/10, total score 34/50

3rd Frank Scorfna 17/25 + 5/5 + 4/5 + 3/5, total score 29/40

4th Warren Sammut 16/25 + 2/5 + 4/5, total score 22/35

5th Stephen Aquilina 12/25 + 3/5, total score 15/30

6th John Marmara 11/25, total score 11/25

The top three shooters in their respective classes concluded their qualification rounds with the following scores:

Class A

1st George Mifsud 44/50

2nd Frank Scorfna 42/50

3rd Nicky Carabott 40/50

Class B

1st Warren Sammut 44/50

2nd Stephen Aquilina 39/50

3rd George Grech 38/50

Class C

1st John Marmara 41/50

2nd Carmel Grech 38/50

3rd Nicholas Schembri 36/50

 

The MSSF Trap programme will continue next Sunday at the Qormi Clay Shooting Club.
