Tuesday, 14 November 2017, 18:19 Last update: about 7 years ago

This Christmas, the project 'Children's Dreams' will return, providing vulnerable children at Christmas new experiences and opportunity. Over the past five years, the project, which started five years ago, has provided vulnerable children with the opportunity to receive Christmas gifts.

This year the Minister for Family, Children's Rights and Social Solidarity, Michael Falzon, explained that several children will experience a variety of things for the first time in their lives such as: choosing their clothes; eating in a restaurant; receiving a toy or having financial support in their education.

"All children have their dreams, aspirations and a vision for a bright future but not all children have the same opportunities and easy living, and for this purpose such projects as Children's Dreams makes a difference and turns their dream into reality ", said Minister Michael Falzon at the launch of the fifth campaign this project.

This year it is expected that 1714 dreams will be published on the website www.childrendreams.org. The Minister Falzon explained that everyone can make a difference in the lives of these children by joining the site and selecting one or more of the children's dreams they would like to see become a reality.

The Foundation for Social Welfare Services  receives gifts from sponsors and gifts given to careers for these children on Christmas day.

"Let's not forget that every effort is a big thing in the lives of these children, which ensures that they live a normal life without feeling isolated, stigmatized and without courage", concluded Minister Michael Falzon
