On Sunday, 19 November 2017 ASMK will continue with the second Trials event of the 2017/2018 Trials National Championship sponsored by ASMK and Pasta Poiatti. This event is being held at the ASMK Sports Complex at Ta Qali. The event starts at 9: 00am.
Meanwhile on Sunday 12 November 2017 ASMK opened the 2017/2018 National Enduro Championship sponsored by WotoMoto. The first event was held at Ta' Qali sport Complex. For this competition 24 riders divided into three classes were registered for this event. Class A is for competitors at Advanced level, Class B is for those Riders who are amateurs but they are good in Enduro competitions and Class C is for all Riders beginners in this sport.
Meanwhile, a look at what happened during the day where the event was completely recorded by MYLAPS Timing Equipment. The initial qualifying runs decides the riders Starting Order of the day for both following Heats where they struggle against the clock.
During the Qualifying runs we saw James Zahra on his Sherco motorcycle dominates with an overall best time of 3 minutes 2.719 seconds. Zahra was followed by Joseph Scicluna on a KTM with his best time of 3 minutes 3.040 seconds while Bernard Sammut on Beta registered his best run in 3 minutes 6.079 seconds and qualified in third place.
During the Heats we had changes in positions and it was Zahra who improved in his Lap Time and held his lead so far by registering a Lap in less than 3 minutes. He also improved his Lap Time in the 2nd Heat in 2 minutes 51.768 seconds which earned him the Overall title and also the First placing in Class A. Scicluna and Sammut continue to defend their place and hope to continue to improve their time. Zahra defended the repositioning of the first Heat by then enter the time under three minutes and in the second Heat continued to improve so much time that closed the day in the first repositioning Overall and Class A with a time 2 minutes 44.238 seconds.
Scilcuna and Sammut were battling for 2nd Place while both improved their Lap times. Yet, Sammut bet Scicluna with his best Lap in 2 minutes 51.768 seconds while Scicluna had to content himself in third place with his Best Lap in 2 minutes 52.776 seconds. Fourth place finisher is Debono Garry on his Sherco with his best Lap of 2 minutes 55.007 seconds.
In Class B George Schembri on KTM motorcycle dominated this class with a best time of 3 minutes 0.110 seconds in his first Heat. Schembri was followed by Christian Spiteri and Gabriel Muscat both on KTM motorcycles. The chase continued during the second Heat where we saw Schembri to hold his lead position followed by Spiteri and Muscat. Now Elvin Debono and Andre Scicluna both on KTM motorcycles entered the scene too.
These latter two together with Muscat continued to improve on their previous Heat Time and gained a place ahead of Spiteri. The final result shows the winner of Class B to be George Schembri followed by Muscat with a time of 3 minutes 16.454 seconds. Debono finished in third place with a time of 3 minutes 18.501 seconds while Scicluna was in fourth place with a time of 3 minutes 19.433 seconds. Spiteri registered fifth place with his best time of 3 minutes 19.500 seconds.
In Class C saw Luke Borg on KTM motorcycle dominate this class with his best time of 3 minutes 39.113 seconds. Borg was followed by Brandon Attard in second place on a KTM with a time of 3 minutes 47.720. In third place Nickovich Chircop on KTM registered his Best Lapin 3 minutes 49.183 seconds.
Meanwhile the next Enduro Event will be held on Sunday 10th December 2017 at the tal-Maghlaq Quarry l/o Qrendi. The Association points out that on Sunday 26th November 2017 the day's program begins with a Holy Mass twhich is to be held at the ASMK Sports complex at Ta' Qali. Holy Mass starts at 9: 00am.
