I DO: A Celebration of Love

Jill never believed in soul mates, she could not really understand the meaning of the word, until she met Cliff. They both fell in love instantly; Jill said that: "From the moment our very eyes met I just knew we were meant for each other." In fact, they always spoke very openly about getting married; both kind of knew that they would one day get married.

Cliff isn't one for romance, Jill explained. But he really spoiled her for the proposal. "It was Christmas Eve and Cliff got me loads of presents. Our entire bed was literally covered with gifts! Silly me, of course, I picked the smallest gift which contained the ring. So Cliff said: 'no not that one, open up the big ones first!'... The last one left was that tiny little box. A tiny little box that would change my world forever - my engagement ring, Jill recalled cheerily. »

The wedding day was on September 3rd, in 2016. The ceremony was held at San Martin Estates, which is their home, or how Jill described it "Our secret haven, far from mankind and tucked away from the hustle and bustle of today's world." The reception was held at the same building but at their landlord's private pool area which was the perfect venue for both the couple and their guests.

They both wanted anything but an ordinary wedding they determindly managed to achieve their goal, especially with the theme which was bohemian, hippie, fairy-tale, animal-friendly and everything that pushes the limits of an ordinary wedding, like unicorns. Also, their ring bearer was their beloved dog.

Jill and Cliff decorated everything themselves with the help of Jill's sister and mother; they enjoyed doing all sorts of DIY decorations. They even made the invitations. They took a couple of photos of themselves and their lovely dog (which wasn't an easy task apparently, to get the dog to look at the camera!) and Jill wrote the invites herself in the form of a short love story:

Once upon a time...

There was a boy and a girl; they lived in a fairy-tale world. In just a day, they fell head over heels.

His pulse was pumping, when he finally asked: 'Will you marry me?' There she stood, blushing and speechless, but her eyes said it all: 'Yes, I do.'

When the moon kisses the sun good night on September 3rd, 2016, at 6 pm, we would like to invite you to celebrate our love and dance the night away.

Follow the glow of the fireflies to the secret road of San Martin Estates and together, let's make this a night we will never forget.

The magic might fade into thin air, dust and sparkles when the clock strikes midnight, but our love will last an eternity. The end.

It was a memorable night for all the guests and most importantly for the couple; they will surely cherish the memory of the night forever. In fact, Jill said that she does not refer to that day as their wedding day but rather "a celebration of our love." It was a perfect opportunity to celebrate their love with their families and close friends which are exactly what they wished for.

For their honeymoon they went for an entire month to Fiji, according to the couple, "it's the perfect non-commercial getaway for honeymooners." They highly recommend it.
