The police have established that the owner of the Attard shop where a shooting incident took place on Friday was the target of the shooter.
Upholsterer Raymond Grima survived the shooting, although he was seriously injured and is still in hospital.
A man who was in the shop, however, Anglu Mangion, was killed with three shots.
The Malta Independent had reported that Mangion was not the target of the shooter.
In a statement today, the police said that its investigations continue but was not in a position to reveal more information.
The police have questioned a number of people in connection with the murder.
