An average of 500 birds will be on show which include a majority of greenfinches from the Maltese variety as well as other songbirds like Hawfinches, siskins, chaffinches, their mutations and hybrids. Prizes will be awarded in all the various sections as well as special prizes for the ‘best’ winners.

This year the judging will be done by four international judges from Germany and Spain. The Parliamentary secretary for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal rights, the Honorable C. Camilleri will be visiting and meeting the judges and the S.B.A.M. committee, where he will be given information regards the process that has finally made the Maltese greenfinch recognised internationally.
