The Malta Feline Guardians Club will be hosting the Grand International Cat Show at Laguna Walk SmartCity Malta on Saturday, 9 and Sunday, 10 December.
For the first time, the club will be organising the ring of the Golden Cat Malta, where the winning cat will get the opportunity to participate in an International Cat Show in Belarus. The winner will receive the airline ticket and a participation ticket to the cat show in Belarus, where the owner will get the opportunity to meet other exhibitors in this prestigious cat show. Furthermore, the winner will also receive a one-year supply of dry food.
A wide range of breeds are expected to participate in this two-day event. These include Balinese, Bengals, British Shorthairs, Burmese, Devon Rex, Exotics, Himalayans, Maine coons, Persians, Ragdolls, Scottish Folds, Siberians, Siamese, Sphynx and last but not least household cats which will also be taking part in this beauty contest show.
The beauty contest competition will be judged by WCF all breed judges, namely Marina Zhuravleva and Elena Ignatova, both all-breed judges from Russia
The two-day cat show will see the participation of kittens, adult cats as well as domestic ones. The top cats will compete for the Best in Show and eventually for the General Best and Super General Best. Further competitions will be organised for the WCF Rings, including Adult Ring, Neuter Ring and Kitten Ring and for the first time the Golden Cat Malta. There will also be Fun Shows which will focus on the best features or abilities of the cat/kitten. Fun rings will also be given out for the best Christmas and winter themes.
The MFGC International Cat Show will be sponsored by Madagascar Id-dinja tal-annimali, the pet educational programme, aired on TVM and TVM2 and the main sponsor Princess.
This can be an educational outing for all the family especially for children who can learn to appreciate these cats and learn about the care and handling of these beloved felines.
Entrance to the public is free of charge.
