A ship loaded with €70 million worth of cannabis was intercepted by the Greek Coast Guard on Wednesday on its way to Malta, Greek media reported.
The ship, which carried the Tanzanian flag, was headed to Malta for repairs. It was found loaded with seven tons of processed cannabis in its hold.
The vessel been under surveillance for more than 48 hours, since it left Nicosia on 30 November.
It was escorted to Aghia Galini and its crew members, believed to be Syrians, were arrested.
