Three Maltese and two Libyan men have been found in possession of suspected cocaine, cannabis, hash and heroin after being searched by the police at St Paul’s Square, Hamrun.

In a statement issued to the press, the police said that “verification” exercises where carried out on documents belonging to immigrants in order to ensure that they are in Malta legally.

Police raids in Marsa and Hamrun also found eight people consuming alcohol in a public place.
