Nazzareno Vassallo, chairman of Vassallo Group, recently celebrated 50 years of leadership of the Group through various events held over three days.

The programme of events kicked off with mass celebrated at the chapel of Casa Arkati, CareMalta's first home for the elderly followed by a business breakfast organised by the company. For this occasion CareMalta's directors, top management and a number of employees were invited. This event was followed by lunch, held on one of Vassallo Builders' sites, One-One-O Sliema, for all construction workers who are currently deployed at the company's construction sites.

Celebrations included a classical concert  under the direction of Mro Michael Laus held at Vassallo's residence at St Martin's Estates, limits of Mgarr.  Some of Malta's top musicians took part and guests included the Group's directors and top management, business partners, bankers as well as other personalities.

The last day started off with a business breakfast organised by CaterEssence, another company within the Vassallo Group. During this event, for which all the company's directors and management team were present, was followed by brunch for all the Group's head office staff.

Celebrations were brought to an end on the same day with a dinner organised by Vassallo Builders for which a number of current and past directors and managers were present.

At the end of the evening Vassallo was presented with a Bedford J Type truck bearing the same number plate as one of the first trucks owned by the company after Vassallo took over the running of the Group from his father Pio in 1967.

Vassallo Group was set up in the aftermath of the Second World War in 1946 as a construction company which over the years developed into one of Malta's most diverse Group of Companies also incorporating care for the elderly, disability, catering, hospitality, property management and education.
