A man was seriously injured on Saturday evening when the car he was driving was involved in a traffic accident in Iklin, the police said.

The accident took place in Iklin Valley at 7.30pm.

A Smart Roadster driven by a 24-year-old of Swieqi was involved in an impact with a Subaru Vivio driven by a 34-year-old of Hamrun.

The latter was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
