In November 2017, the annual rate of inflation as measured by the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) remained at a constant rate of 1.5 per cent, the NSO said today.

The twelve-month moving average rate for November stood at a rate of 1.2 per cent.

The largest upward impact on annual inflation was recorded in the Food and Non-alcoholic Beverages Index (0.37 percentage points), mainly reflecting higher prices of confectionery goods. The largest downward impact was recorded in the Clothing and Footwear Index (0.19 percentage points), attributed to lower prices of garments.

In October 2017, the annual rate of change for Malta as measured by the HICP was 0.1 percentage points higher than that registered for the euro area.
