Children's Dreams still awaiting 750 gifts pledged by public, deadline extended to 7pm

The Children's Dreams project is still waiting for 750 dreams in the form of gifts, which were pledged by the public but were not delivered to their offices by last Saturday, which was the original deadline.

In light of this, the deadline has now been extended till tonight. Their offices, near Dar Impenn in Hal-Luqa, will be open till 7pm this evening.

A spokesperson for Children's Dreams told The Malta Independent that this year they received 2,114 wishes in the form of toys, clothes, bicycles and books and so on. They have received 1,264 gifts so far, however are still awaiting the remaining 750.

A list of missing gifts will be uploaded on www.childrendreams.org tomorrow, in case some dreams are still remaining to be fulfilled.

The children receiving the gifts are all followed by the Foundation for Social Welfare Services, and they are either in care or else living in families with social difficulties.

Once collected, gifts are sorted and delivered to the social workers, which then hand the children their gifts by Christmas time.

This is Children Dreams Malta's fifth year. This idea was brought over to Malta and is coordinating the project in partnership with the Foundation for Social Welfare Services which incorporates Agenzija Appogg, Agenzija Sedqa and Leap.

Should there be any companies or individuals willing to help and can't deliver a gift, we have a bank account where donations can be received.
