First reading put forward in Parliament to amend law allowing voting from age 16

The first reading of the law to amend the Constitution and laws to allow 16 year olds to vote in elections was put forward in parliament this morning. If approved, people will be allowed to vote in MEP elections as well as in general elections from the age of 16.

Parliamentary Secreteray for Reform, Citizenships and Simplification of  Adminsitrative Processes Julia Farrugia this morning presented the first reading in Parliament.

In a press release, Farrugia Portelli said that such a reform "clearly shows our faith in the youth."
