Quincy, Bliss, Johnny, Enzo, Suzie, Brie and Toby were the guests of honour at an event hosted by Ocean Basket Qawra on behalf of the Service Dogs Malta Foundation.

The guests of honour were golden retrievers, Labradors and Bernese Mountain Dogs ranging from 6 weeks to 1 year in age. They have just embarked on their service dog training. T

hey have each been specifically chosen on the basis of their temperament and willingness to learn and, if all goes well, in about 1.5 years time they will become qualified assistance dogs for children with autism, or as diabetic alert dogs for persons with diabetes. They will also all be visiting schools and providing dog therapy services on an ongoing basis as part of their training.

The dogs were presented by their puppy raisers and introduced to various persons involved in the health and animal welfare sectors.
