This is a time when we should reflect on the values that guide us, those that have served as the foundation of what we are today, President Marie Louise Coleiro Preca said today.

In her Christmas message, the President said that respect and solidarity have always been values that characterised as a nation, and we should do our utmost not to lose them.

In spite of our many differences, we should always respect one another, she said.

Coleiro Preca also made reference to the social media, which instead of being used to educate and inform, had become a platform for verbal violence.

We should not allow to situation to escalate any further, and we are still very much in time not to lose the value of taking care of each other, she said.
