Bank of Valletta has announced that over €62,000 was donated to L-Istrina via its BOV Mobile Pay application.

Bank of Valletta has invited its customers to use the free application to make their donation to the fundraising marathon towards the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation.

Commenting on the figure, Ivo Camilleri, Executive Multi-Channel Banking said, "Year on year, more customers are choosing to subscribe to BOV Mobile Pay and discover first-hand the convenience and flexibility offered by this application. As in previous editions, we have this year created a dedicated mobile line and invited our BOV Mobile Pay subscribers to make their donations to L-Istrina directly. Our records show that more than 2,300 donations were made to the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation using the BOV Mobile Pay app."

Launched in 2012 as the first mobile banking platform in Malta, BOV Mobile is free to download. "It offers subscribers an intuitive and user-friendly application to make person-to-person payments, pay bills, top-up any mobile phone, whilst also monitoring one's deposit and loan accounts, as well as credit cards at any time from one's mobile phone," a statement read.

During the live broadcast on 26 December, the Bank's CEO Mario Mallia presented a donation of €53,171 representing funds collected through the L-Istrina BOV Piggy Bank campaign across all schools in Malta and Gozo, as well as a donation of €200,000 by the Bank.
