The government is realizing that the report prepared by MEPs on the rule of law in Malta has caused great harm to the country and yet it continues to persist in doing wrong, Opposition Leader Adrian Delia said.
Speaking to journalists, Delia told the Prime Minister to take the steps that are needed to defend Malta’s reputation.
On Thursday, a report by MEPs called on the PM to remove Minister Konrad Mizzi and OPM chief of staff from public office, and asked the European Commission to investigate the serious concerns raised on Pilatus Bank, Nexia BT, the MFSA and the IIP citizenship scheme.
Delia said that PM Muscat had arrived at the same conclusion before the election but he said he needed both Mizzi and Schembri for particular projects.
Delia asked why the PM is insisting on defending Mizzi and Schembri instead of Malta.
