Wednesday, 17 January 2018, 16:26 Last update: about 7 years ago

The government said this afternoon that no Legionella case has been found at Mount Carmel Hospital, as reported on netnews.com.

The water system at the hospital is being continuously monitored and traces of contaminated water were found in two wards. The water system in these two wards was switched off until the water was cleaned with the use of chlorine.

The water system at the hospital is 150 years old and was neglected for many years. The government has embarked on a series of restructuring projects at the hospital, including that of the water system.
